Will grant its second Juana Gros de Olea Award and present a new edition of
Cuba: Intra-History. An Unremitting Struggle by Rafael Diaz-Balart
Miami, FL – The White Rose Institute will meet this Friday, May 10, 2013, in
The White Rose Institute’s Juana Gros de Olea Award is awarded to persons who, by their conduct, personify the highest values of José Martí. The first award was awarded posthumously to Juana Gros de Olea, who helped found The White Rose after three of her four sons were murdered by the Castro regime in January 1959 in Santiago, Cuba. Despite having suffered the greatest pain conceivable, Juana Gros de Olea preached love among Cubans for the rest of her life.
A new edition of Cuba: Intra-History. An Unremitting Struggle by Rafael Diaz-Balart will also be presented this Friday, May 10 with remarks by Sylvia Iriondo, President of Mothers Against Repression (MAR por Cuba), Orlando Gutierrez, National Secretary of the Cuban Democratic Directorate, and Thad McCotter, former United States Congressman from Michigan.
